The d-SY Advisory Board is currently populated by 13 members elected from a range of business backgrounds including representatives from the creative and ICT industries, and both the public and private sectors. The board plans to meet three times a year and will be served by a secretariat. All the candidates for the Board are ratified by the members of d-SY and are then invited to take up post. Membership will be reviewed bi-annually.
The function of the Advisory Board is to provide expert advice to the Directors and membership of d-SY. The business expertise of board members will play a key role in helping to steer d-SY activities and contribute to the strategic development and economic growth of South Yorkshire's CDI sector.
The Chair of the Advisory Board is Richard Allen, former Liberal Democrat MP for Sheffield Hallam now independent. During his time as MP for Sheffield Hallam Richard, was the Liberal Democrat Spokesperson on Information Technology, and also served time as the Chairman of the Information Select Committee of the House of Commons.
